hi! I am a competitive figure skater and I really want to try rhythmic gymnastics! I am 14 now and I want to try it when I am in university (in about 4 or 5 years) I am a bit flexible now, but with work I know I can get better! so am I too old to try it? thanks! :)

A lot of gymnasts retire at 18-19 years, starting at that age would be way too late. :( I’m really sorry for you. I don’t know if there would be any clubs which would accept you at that age, since, as I said before, some retire at that age, but you could try. If I was you I’d try to see if anyone would accept me right now, but the gymnasts are already competing at this age and they would be way too ahead of you.

P.S.: And “a bit flexible” isn’t enough.. Even artistic gymnasts aren’t flexible enough for rg. You could become flexible, but by that time it would be too late. And flexibility isn’t enough. You need a very good hand-eye coordination, and you have to be able to “handle” very well the 5 rg objects. I’m really, really sorry for you. :( But keep up with figure skating. It’s a very beautiful sport and it would be a shame to quit it!(Sorry for my bad english.:3)
